As a key connecting element of the hydraulic system, the material selection of hydraulic joints directly affects the system performance and service life. The main materials include: carbon steel joints have the advantages of high strength (700bar+) and low cost, but require surface anti-rust treatment, and are suitable for high-pressure systems such as engineering machinery; stainless steel joints (especially type 316) have outstanding corrosion resistance and hygienic properties, suitable for special working conditions such as food, medicine, and marine environment, but the cost is relatively high; brass joints have good electrical and thermal conductivity and are easy to process, suitable for low-pressure systems below 300bar and fuel pipelines; aluminum alloy joints are light in weight (only 1/3 of steel) and are mostly used in weight-sensitive fields such as aerospace. When selecting, the working pressure, medium characteristics, environmental conditions and cost factors should be comprehensively considered. Carbon steel is preferred in high-pressure conventional environments, stainless steel is suitable for corrosive occasions, brass is suitable for low-pressure systems, and aluminum alloy is selected for lightweight requirements. With the development of technology, new composite materials and intelligent joints will provide more options.
